The culture at my local “office” was one of the first positives I noticed at Real. The moment I was invited into the group chats I could tell that there was a level of grassroots support and collaboration that I’ve never seen at any of my other brokerages. One of the three stated Values of Real is that “We is bigger than Me”. They back this up throughout the company, from the CEO to the brand new agent.

The Ethical Agent Attraction Policy

Real Brokerage’s Agent Attraction policy is built on the principle that agents should be introduced to the brokerage ethically, transparently, and without pressure. The goal is not recruitment for its own sake, but informed choice, professional alignment and radically collaborative.

Agents are encouraged to share their genuine experience at Real: the technology, support model, culture, and economics. This allows prospective agents to decide for themselves whether the brokerage is the right fit. There are no scripts, quotas, cold-calling mandates, or required recruiting activities.

Real’s policy explicitly emphasizes:

  • Consent-based conversations: discussions only with agents who have expressed interest.
  • Truthful representation: accurate, non-misleading information about Real’s offerings.
  • No interference: respecting existing brokerage relationships and avoiding disruption or coercion.
  • Professional conduct: attraction should reflect well on the individual agent and the industry as a whole.

Agent attraction at Real is positioned as peer-to-peer education, not sales. It rewards collaboration, mentorship, and openness — reinforcing Real’s belief that the best growth comes from agents who want to be there, not agents who are persuaded or pressured.

One of the best things I found within the Policy is that agents are not allowed to promise benefits to “their downline”. Instead, if they offer something unique, it must be offered to the entire brokerage. This has a compounding effect where passionate leaders work together to build the entire company instead of their own personal silos.

Unofficial Group Chats

Your own province/state brokerage may use different apps. Here in B.C., we have a powerful collection of Whatsapp group chats that have hundreds of members, all in a highly positive, collaborative space. Among the 7 brokerages I’ve been with, I’ve never seen anything like it. In addition to our main group chat lounge, we also have group chats specifically for social media sharing/tips/collabs, open houses (promotions, agents looking to host, etc), and regional chat groups. Don’t underestimate this – this is where so much learning and connection happens.

WorkViVo

The WorkViVo platform is the official communication hub for Real broker. This is where you’ll find the directory of agents/staff, event calendar, referral groups, communications from your provincial/state broker, and a TON of resources, including handbooks, forms, clauses, etc.

Live Events

Some people are concerned about whether joining a “Cloud brokerage” means they won’t have the face-to-face time with other agents. Well, I can say that in my first few months at Real, I probably saw more agents in my brokerage than what I saw over a period of years at “brick and mortar” offices. This is because there is ALWAYS something going on at Real.

RISE is Real Brokerage’s flagship annual in-person conference designed to bring its agent community together for inspiration, learning, connection, and growth. It unites thousands of agents from across North America for a multi-day event filled with keynotes from industry leaders, peer-led sessions, hands-on workshops, and strategic insights that agents can use immediately to elevate their business. Past events have been at…
